The HEDS-9700 series is an exceptional combination of high performance and affordability, providing an optical incremental encoder module that excels in precision applications. When used with a codewheel or codestrip, this module adeptly senses rotary or linear positions with remarkable accuracy. Comprised of a sophisticated lensed LED source and an innovative detector IC, all encased in a compact C-shaped plastic package, it offers an unparalleled level of precision. Thanks to its precisely collimated light source and a unique photodetector array, the module exhibits an extraordinary tolerance to mounting misalignment, ensuring reliability and consistent performance. It features two digital output channels and a 5V supply input, accessible via four solder-plated leads on a 2.54 mm (0.1 inch) grid. Standard models are optimized for an 11 mm optical radius codewheel or linear codestrip, but additional configurations can be tailored to meet specific needs.
