The HEDS-9700 series stands as a paragon of high-performance, cost-effective solutions in optical incremental encoding. This module, when paired with a codewheel or codestrip, provides impeccable rotary or linear position detection. Its ingenious design includes a lensed LED source and a detector IC housed within a compact, C-shaped plastic package. Thanks to its highly collimated light source and a distinctive photodetector array, the module boasts exceptional tolerance to mounting misalignments. It features dual-channel digital outputs and operates on a 5V supply, accessible via four solder-plated leads on 2.54 mm (0.1 inch) centers. While the standard HEDS-9700 is crafted for use with an 11 mm optical radius codewheel or linear codestrip, other customizable options are available upon request.
